Longtab Brewing Brings Good Beer And Good Coffee To San Antonio
San Antonio’s latest brewery launches this week on the city’s Northwest side. Nestled away at 4700 Timco West, Longtab Brewing sits just inside the 410 Loop off Bandera road. The Alamo City’s latest brewpub has a two-fold opening this week, with coffee operations having started yesterday at 7 A.M., slinging their single-origin Guatemalan coffee. Patrons will get a chance to try the beer later this week, with small bites from the kitchen.
Longtab is a veteran-owned brewery and coffee bar, born out of the love of good beer, and coffee by retired Green Berets, David Holland, and Mike Brown. Holland and Brown carry this mindset through all aspects of Longtab. From the beer to the logo (a play on the Green Beret logo), to their approach on business and brewing, including where they source their coffee. The guys at Longtab are proud of their military service, and it’s evident the minute you walk in.
After the coffee bar has enjoyed some love this week, the brewing operation will launch to the public this Friday, with three beers: An American Pale Ale, American IPA, and a Belgian-Style Blonde Ale with a smidge of honey. More brews will be on tap soon, as operations gear up. Brown will head up the brewing operations, and plans a wide variety of ales and lagers sure to please San Antonio residents.
Longtab will use 100 percent of its brewing ingredients from the United States. From the hops to the grain, including the coffee. Whipping up drip coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, and the like, Holland and Brown source their beans from De Espresso Liber, another Green Beret owned business.
Longtab will be open this week from 7 am-2 pm through Thursday, 7 am-11 pm Friday, 8 am-11m Saturday and noon-8pm. Hours look to be the same going forward, with a slightly later closing time on Thursdays.
